ELISA Detection: Biotin Rat Anti-Mouse IL-5 antibody (Cat. No. 554397) is useful as a detection antibody for a sandwich ELISA measuring mouse IL-5 protein levels. Biotin Rat Anti-Mouse IL-5 antibody can be paired with the Purified Rat Anti-Mouse/Anti-Human IL-5 antibody (Cat. No. 554393) as the capture antibody, with Recombinant Mouse IL-5 (Cat. No. 554581) as the standard. This biotinylated detection antibody should be titrated in the range of 0.5 to 2.0 µg/ml to determine its optimal concentration for ELISA. To obtain linear standard curves, doubling dilutions of mouse IL-5 ranging from ~15 to 2000 pg/ml are recommended for inclusion in each ELISA plate.

Note: This ELISA pair is recommended primarily for measuring cytokine from experimental cell culture systems. These ELISA reagents are not recommended for assaying serum or plasma samples. For measuring Mouse IL-5 in serum or plasma our Mouse IL-5 ELISA Set (Cat. No. 555236) is specially formulated and recommended.

- Since applications vary, each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results.
- Caution: Sodium azide yields highly toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in plumbing.
