Flow cytometric analysis of CD97 expression on human peripheral blood lymphocytes. PHA-activated (bold line histogram) and resting (light line histogram) lymphocytes were stained with FITC Mouse Anti-Human CD97 (Cat. No. 555773). Fluorescent histograms were derived from gated events with the side and forward light-scattering characteristics of viable lymphocytes.

Product Notices
- This reagent has been pre-diluted for use at the recommended Volume per Test. We typically use 1 × 10^6 cells in a 100-µl experimental sample (a test).
- An isotype control should be used at the same concentration as the antibody of interest.
- Caution: Sodium azide yields highly toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in plumbing.
- Source of all serum proteins is from USDA inspected abattoirs located in the United States.
- For fluorochrome spectra and suitable instrument settings, please refer to our Multicolor Flow Cytometry web page at www.bdbiosciences.com/colors.

The VIM3b monoclonal antibody recognizes CD97. CD97 is a seven-span transmembrane protein that belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor superfamily. CD97 is encoded by ADGRE5 (adhesion G protein-coupled receptor E5). CD97 is highly expressed on monocytes and granulocytes. It is also expressed on dendritic cells, T cells, B cells, NK cells, and smooth muscle cells. CD97 expression is upregulated on activated T cells. CD97 is also expressed on several cell lines including HL-60, THP-1, and K562. CD97 reportedly plays roles in leucocyte signaling, adhesion, and migration. The VIM3b antibody works in Western blotting and immunoprecipitation. The antibody recognizes proteins of 74, 80 and 89 kDa. CD55 and chondroitin sulfate are ligands for CD97.
