The BD FACSDuet^™ Sample Preparation System is a comprehensive sample preparation system that provides a complete walkaway workflow solution offering automatic sample transfer through physical integration with the BD FACSLyric^™ Flow Cytometer. This helps drive standardization, consistency and data reproducibility, empowering labs to meet increasing workload demands.

The BD FACSDuet^™ Premium Sample Preparation System further enhances lab efficiency with onboard washing and centrifugation that accommodate a variety of assays, reduce hands-on time and help labs maximize resources.

The BD FACSDuet™ Systems are designed to meet your needs

Deliver required flexibility by supporting a wide range of different types of blood collection tubes from different manufacturers, including BD Vacutainer^®, SARSTEDT S-Monovette^™, Greiner, and Streck Tubes.

Enable specimen management with tube adaptors. Eight (8) tube adaptors are available, which are barcoded and color coded for easy identification, guaranteeing accurate tube piercing and sample volume dispensing.

The BD FACSDuet™ Systems enable flexibility in specimen and tube loading

to 40 specimen tubes can be accommodated at any given time in four racks holding 10 specimens each, driving workflow efficiency and throughput.

Two types of continuous loading specimen racks are available, one of which is specifically designed for pediatric tubes.

Sample Traceability and Worklist Creation

The BD FACSDuet™ Systems allow for traceability of samples and worklist creation

Specimen traceability and automated worklist creation are guaranteed by five different barcodes on the specimen rack, identifying: (1) rack, (2) tube position, (3) empty position, (4) adaptor, (5) specimen.

Retrieving patient and assay information from the laboratory information system (LIS) for automated worklist creation on the BD FACSDuet™ Sample Preparation System and BD FACSLyric™ Flow Cytometry System.

Automated cocktailing

The BD FACSDuet™ Sample Preparation System allows for on-board automated antibody cocktail preparation eliminating the risk of errors due to manual pipetting.

The system enables the automated recording of all used antibodies for easier tracking and auditing. Part number, lot number and expiry date of the cocktail are also tracked and recorded to ensure quality and consistency in laboratory workflow.

Each antibody cocktail can be made from a maximum of 45 unique conjugates in a single cocktailing vial. Users’ cocktail recipes are stored in the software and available for subsequent preparations of the same cocktail, ensuring reproducibility and quality of product independently from the user.
