The BD Horizon™ Cell Proliferation Dyes are non-fluorescent molecules that passively diffuse into cells. Once inside the cell, they are hydrolyzed by intracellular nonspecific esterases to become fluorescent products. After hydrolysis, the dye becomes trapped inside the cell.
