Preparation And Storage
The antibody solution was purified from goat antiserum and was passed through solid-phase immunoadsorbent gels to minimize cross-reactivity with mouse, human, cow, and horse serum proteins (multiple adsorption).

Companion Products

HRP Goat Anti-Rat Ig is a polyclonal secondary antibody used for the detection of rat Ig. This antibody is tested by ELISA. Investigators are highly encouraged to titrate the reagent for specific applications (1:1000 dilution is the suggested starting dilution). It is reactive in ELISA with rat IgG, IgM, and IgA; a weaker signal may be detected on the rat IgG2b and IgM isotypes. It has some cross-reactivity with mouse IgG and no cross-reactivity with human Ig. For immunohistochemical staining (IHC) of acetone-fixed frozen and paraffin-embedded sections, the use of biotinylated goat anti-rat Ig (Cat. No. 559286) is recommended. However, when using rat IgG2b primary antibodies, biotinylated mouse anti-rat IgG2b mAb G15-337 (Cat. No. 550327) is recommended as second step in IHC. When using rat IgM primary antibodies in IHC, biotinylated anti-rat and -hamster Ig κ light chain mAb RG7/7.6 (Cat. No. 550336) or biotinylated anti-rat IgM mAb G53-238 (Cat. No. 550330) as second step is recommended.
Warning: HRP Goat Anti-Rat Ig (Cat. No. 554017) contains 0.004% (w/w) of a CMIT/MIT mixture (3:1), which is a mixture of: 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one [EC No 247-500-7] and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one [EC No 220-239-6] (3:1).
