Description
Anti–HLA-DR, clone L243, is derived from the hybridization of mouse NS-1/1-Ag4 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with the human lymphoblastoid B-cell line RPMI 8866.
Anti–HLA-DR recognizes a human class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigen. The antigen is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of α- and β-subunits that have molecular weights of 36 and 27 kilodaltons (kd), respectively.
Format
FITC, fluorescein isothiocyanate, is a fluorochrome with a molecular weight of 389 Da. FITC is sensitive to pH changes and photobleaching. Due to nearly identical excitation and emission properties but different spillover characteristics, FITC and Alexa Fluor® 488 cannot be used simultaneously. FITC is relatively dim and should be reserved for highly expressed markers whenever possible.
