Biotin Mouse Anti-Rat IL-6

ELISA Detection: This biotinylated G307-2 antibody is useful as a detection antibody for a sandwich ELISA for measuring rat IL-6 protein levels. Biotinylated G307-2 antibody can be paired with the purified C3-4 antibody (Cat. No. 550644) as the capture antibody, with recombinant rat IL-6 (Cat. No. 557008) as the standard. Biotinylated G307-2 antibody should be titrated (4 - 8 µg/ml) to determine optimal concentration for ELISA detection. To obtain linear standard curves, doubling dilutions of rat IL-6 ranging from ~10,000 to 78 pg/ml are recommended for inclusion in each ELISA plate For specific methodology, please visit the protocols section or chapter on ELISA in the Immune Function Handbook, both of which are posted on our web site, www.bdbiosciences.com. Note: This ELISA pair is recommended primarily for measuring cytokine from experimental cell culture systems. These ELISA reagents are not recommended for assaying serum or plasma samples. For measuring rat IL-6 in serum or plasma our rat IL-6 BD OptEIA™  ELISA Set (Cat. No. 550319 ) is specially formulated and recommended.

Western Blot: The biotinylated G307-2 antibody has been reported by useful for Western blot. Please note that this application is not routinely tested at BD Biosciences Pharmingen.

3. Caution: Sodium azide yields highly toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in plumbing.
