Preparation And Storage

Store undiluted at 4°C. The monoclonal antibody was purified from tissue culture supernatant or ascites by affinity chromatography. The antibody was conjugated with biotin under optimum conditions, and unreacted biotin was removed.

Recommended Assay Procedures

For immunohistochemical staining, a dilution range of 1:50 - 1:200 is suggested.

Product Notices

  1. Since applications vary, each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results.
  2. Source of all serum proteins is from USDA inspected abattoirs located in the United States.
  3. Caution: Sodium azide yields highly toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in plumbing.
  4. This antibody has been developed for the immunohistochemistry application. However, a routine immunohistochemistry test is not performed on every lot. Researchers are encouraged to titrate the reagent for optimal performance.
  5. Although hamster immunoglobulin isotypes have not been well defined, BD Biosciences Pharmingen has grouped Armenian and Syrian hamster IgG monoclonal antibodies according to their reactivity with a panel of mouse anti-hamster IgG mAbs. A table of the hamster IgG groups, Reactivity of Mouse Anti-Hamster Ig mAbs, may be viewed at http://www.bdbiosciences.com/documents/hamster_chart_11x17.pdf.

G94-56

This preparation consists of a mixture of two mouse anti-hamster IgG monoclonal antibodies: G70-204 (isotype IgG1,κ), and G94-56 (isotype IgG2b,κ). It reacts with Armenian hamster IgG, groups 1, 2, and 3, and Syrian hamster IgG, group 1, and group 2 monoclonal antibodies. It does not react with hamster IgM antibodies.

Biotin
Biotin is a ubiquitous co-factor (also known as Vitamin B7) that has many properties that make it extremely useful for molecular biology. Biotin has an extremely high affinity for the Avidin family of proteins (Kd = 10-15 M), making it the perfect tool to link two molecules. Biotin labeled antibodies can be combined with any number of Avidin-conjugated probes in order to customize an assay to a particular need. This is especially useful in the case of magnetic cell separation using streptavidin/magnetic bead conjugates, or in the case of flow cytometry using streptavidin/fluorophore conjugates.
