Product Announcement
Why is this product being discontinued?
The tandem dye was reformulated. The original version of the dye will be transitioned to the new version of the dye. The current off-the-shelf catalog number will be discontinued and replaced with a new off-the-shelf catalog number.
What is the difference between 564426 and 612777?
The tandem dye was reformulated. However, both 564426 and 612777 have very similar excitation and emission spectra and are excited by the same laser line. So you dont need to change your filters or instrument configuration; you also dont need to change your panel design.
Does the new formulation of the tandem dye have less spillover?
For some reformulated BUV tandem dyes there may be less spillover into the BUV395 detector, so we recommend resetting your compensation values when using the new version of the dye. You also get better long-term performance stability with the new formulation.
When will this product be discontinued?
564426 will be discontinued in July 2019. 612777 is a replacement for 564426 and is currently available for purchase.
How will I know if I have the original formulation or the new formulation of the tandem dye?
BUV tandem dyes made with the new formulation have a catalog number starting with 612777 and are packaged in black vials. BUV tandem dyes made with the original formulation have a catalog number starting with 564426 and will remain amber vials.
Why was the BUV tandem dye reformulated?
The BUV tandem dyes were redeveloped to be compatible with BD OptiBuild custom technology. We can now offer more BUV tandem fluorochrome options with the antibodies you need, including more esoteric clone/dye combinations.
