BD Cell Signaling Pathways

Tutorial

BD™ Cell Pathways enables the exploration of novel relationships to develop or confirm new hypotheses.

The ability to access this supporting information quickly aids in the development of experimental design, including the development of grant proposals, and enhances data interpretation.

Neighborhood relationships for STAT5A

The Neighborhood tab for a molecule allows for the exploration of novel relationships that have been reported in the literature. Using the left-hand menu, users can toggle between different sets of alphabetized interactors. In addition to quickly deriving information from the visual representation of the interaction (ie, the arrow indicates that STAT5 acts on BCL2L1), clicking the interaction line provides a pop-up window that describes the type and number of reported interactions. For example, the STAT5 neighborhood shows three reported expression-associated relationships with BCL2L1 (Bcl-x). Additional network functionality and specific references for molecular interactions within a neighborhood are accessible through quick links to the full Ingenuity's IPA software.

Available reagents for BCL2L1

To quickly narrow down experimental choices, users can filter the molecules by selecting particular applications in the Narrow Interactors sub-tab. Clicking the molecule results in a pop-up window with a link to the gene summary for the interactor and a list of available reagents for specific experimental applications. New experiments exploring this relationship can now be designed based on the information provided.
