BD Accuri™ C6 flow cytometer
Features
Intuitive Software—Master in Minutes
BD Accuri™ C6 Software has an intuitive user interface that was developed based on hundreds of hours observing researchers using flow cytometers.
As a result, most flow cytometry users find it so easy to use, they are collecting and analyzing data in less than an hour. Software options and instrument controls are clearly visible from the software’s tabbed interface, which enables access to the collection, analysis, and statistics functions.
Simplifies Data Acquisition
Data is acquired from the Collect tab. You can create new plots, hide or delete plots, or copy and re-use plots from this tab. You can also view BD Accuri™ C6 Flow Cytometer status, run criteria, fluidics settings, threshold and compensation. The software supports a full range of selection regions including rectangular, polygon, quadrant, horizontal, and vertical markers. Up to 96 samples can be collected in a single data grid.
The Data Collection function lets users create new plots, hide or delete plots, or copy and re-use plots.

Empowers Flexible Analysis
The Analyze tab displays plots and samples in any combination. In the Analyze tab, users can create color histogram overlays, print multiple plots, and compare samples. The Zoom tool can be used to magnify areas of data, instead of voltage adjustments to set the channel range viewed, to better visualize results. An enhanced analysis module supports event coloring, vector-scalable graphics, live gating, and batch analysis.
To simplify creation of papers and presentations, BD Accuri™ C6 Software can export publication-quality vector-scalable eps files. These files can be imported into Microsoft® Word, PowerPoint®, and other imaging programs such as Adobe® Photoshop® using drag and drop functions.
Event coloring allows researchers to assign a color to events in gated regions on a plot to make it easier to readily identify populations. In addition, each population on a histogram overlay plot can also be colored. The maximum number of plot overlays is 96.
Live gates allow users to exclude events outside a selected area. They can be applied during or after acquisition. Any region can be used as a live gate, and information excluded will not be displayed or stored in the FCS file.
Batch analysis allows rapid analysis of multiple samples using a common set of plots while allowing adjustments to be made on individual samples.
The Data Analysis function lets users create color overlay histograms, print multiple plots, compare samples, and create median statistics.

Sample data statistics can be easily calculated and custom displayed in the Statistics tab. Data is displayed in a master table, and statistics can be easily copied and pasted into spreadsheets to facilitate reporting.
BD Accuri™ C6 Software files can be exported in FCS 3.0 format for seamless importing of user data into flow cytometry analysis programs including FCS Express and FlowJo™ software. We provide guides to help in this process.
The Statistics function lets users view information in a master table and easily copy and paste into spreadsheets.
Streamline Maintenance
To help ensure your BD Accuri™ C6 Flow Cytometer is operating at peak performance, an automated notification and reminder system notifies users when the peristaltic pump tubing, in-line sheath fluid, and the fluidics bottle filters need to be replaced. This periodic maintenance is calculated based on the volume of sheath processed or 75 days, whichever comes first.
User Tracking
User tracking is an optional upgrade for BD Accuri™ C6 Software and BD CSampler™ software that controls access to the flow cytometer by assigning unique usernames and passwords to individuals authorized to use the BD Accuri™ C6 Flow Cytometer. The software records how long each individual uses the software in a log that captures time of sign-in and exit. The log can be imported into a spreadsheet program to help support customer billing or other lab records. The system also records the serial number of the BD Accuri™ C6 Flow Cytometer used, for laboratories where multiple instruments are installed. Users can easily be added, edited, or removed by the system administrator.
User Tracking Login
The administrator can add new users, delete existing users, and change the admin password.
User Tracking Log
When users access or leave BD Accuri™ C6 Software, an entry is made in the userUsage Log. The userUsage log is a text file that can be viewed in Notepad or copied into Microsoft Excel as a comma delimited file. In addition to the date and time each person logged into and out of BD Accuri™ C6 Software, the serial number of the BD Accuri™ Flow Cytometer used for the session is recorded. In this case, the serial number of the BD Accuri™ C6 Flow Cytometer is 2672. Multiuser or Core Laboratories often use this information to track instrument usage and bill for client’s time spent on the flow cytometer.
