Useful search tips to help refine and improve your search
Search is the easiest way to quickly find products and documents of interest. Here’s a quick list of some of the most popular search tools to help refine and improve your search.
How to use multi-term queries
By default, a search query will be set to "Match all terms" and will return products and documents that include all the terms that you have entered.
Example:
- CD3 human
- CD3 FITC
- CD3 human FITC
Alternatively, if you want to perform a wider search, selecting “Match any term” will return results that include any of the terms entered.

Operators
The following table lists the search operators that can be used to refine your search on bdbiosciences.com.
| Operators | Example | Finds products, documents, or web pages containing… |
|---|---|---|
| ? | CD11? | A five character term that starts with “CD11” |
| * | anti* | A term of any length that starts with “anti.” Performing a search for “*” will return all products, documents, or web pages. |
| " " | "96-well plate" | The exact phrase contained within double quotes |
Filters
Filters can be used to narrow the results of your search to find the exact product (or products) you are looking for. Using the drop-down menus for “Attributes” and Categories” allows you to filter your results first based on broad areas and then on more specific categories. Once selected, the Category menu will automatically refresh to include all the possible values for the selected attribute.
An example search for a specific antibody product: using specificity and reactivity filters
Step 1: Enter the specificity in the search box
Enter the desired specificity in the search box and click the Search button.
Step 2: Use the filter to narrow the selection
Expand a filter group from the filter column on the left. Check the checkbox next to a specific reactivity to automatically narrow the search results to CD5 products with the selected reactivity.
Step 3: Sort your results
Clicking the name of a column will sort the results in ascending order of the selected column for example, clicking List Price will sort all the items from least expensive to most expensive). When selected, the column will be highlighted to indicate that it is being used to sort the results.
