 The BD Falcon™ TufRol™ EZ Roller Bottle offers a unique new way to manipulate roller bottles. The EZ Grip, a deep indentation in the bottom of the bottle, creates a handhold for easier pouring. Sloped shoulders allow for greater volume recovery when pouring. In addition, the neck and cap design ensures a secure seal with minimal torque.
Like the current BD Falcon roller bottles, the new BD Falcon™ TufRol™ EZ has a one-piece design. While polystyrene does not normally offer high-impact resistance, the BD Falcon roller bottles are manufactured using a proprietary manufacturing process that provides good impact resistance. This inherent high-strength feature reduces the risk of messy spills and loss of precious contents during accidental mishandling.
BD Falcon™ TufRol™ EZ Roller Bottles are tissue-culture treated, nonpyrogenic, and sterilized by gamma irradiation. As with most BD Falcon™ products, our roller bottles are manufactured under a registered ISO 9002 Quality System.
Automated and Manual Lab Friendly
The one-piece design of BD Falcon™ TufRol™ EZ Roller Bottle is compatible with manual or automated filling systems. Bottles with or without the EZ Grip indentation are available.

Yield of BD™ Cell Using Protein-G purification

First evaluated in roller bottles, BD™ Cell has proven itself a worthy alternative to traditional basal media. While a standard method of culturing antibody, roller bottle production has some limitations: extensive labor and frequent feedings. The initial roller bottle evaluation compared BD Cell™ MAb Medium (basal) with Iscove‘s Modified Dulbecco‘s Medium (IMDM) both supplemented with 10 percent fetal bovine serum (FBS). The cultures were inoculated at a density of 2 x 105 cells/ml. The IMDM was run conventionally with harvesting and feeding performed every two to three days. By contrast, the BD™ Cell culture was run batch fed and incubated untouched for 21 days. Now evaluated in a production environment on more than 300 hybridoma lines, BD Cell‘s average increase of antibody yield 8 to 10 times that of classic IMDM media. Benefits of BD Cell™ MAb Media |
