Cell Culture Flasks

BD Biosciences offers an extensive selection of cell culture flasks that are available with a broad range of surface chemistries and attachment factors.

BD Falcon™, BD Primaria™, and BD BioCoat™ cell culture flasks, offered in a variety of surface treatments, provide enhanced cell attachment and growth. The innovative flask shape is designed for optimal cell collection and is offered in a wide range of sizes and cap styles to meet your application needs.

Features

  • Features a broad range of surface treatments including non-treated, tissue culture-treated, biological, and synthetic surface treatments
  • Permits access to the entire growth surface for optimal cell collection
  • Secure stacking provides stability from accidental tips or spills, and protection against contamination (canted neck flasks)
  • Assures consistent culture conditions when performing routine cell culture testing
  • Innovative vented caps allow optimal gas exchange while protecting against contamination. A variety of cap styles including phenolic, plug-seal, and vented caps suit all cell culture requirements.

Surface options for enhanced cell attachment and growth

BD flasks are available with a variety of surface options including untreated, tissue culture-treated, Primaria and biological surface treatments. The first name in cell culture, BD Falcon flasks feature a unique vacuum-gas plasma tissue culture surface treatment that provides consistent cell attachment, spreading, and growth. BD Primaria combines a variety of nitrogen-containing functional groups and negatively charged oxygen-containing groups. This complex surface is homogeneous and stable, and has been shown to improve attachment and differentiation of a variety of primary cells and cell lines.

BD BioCoat flasks are coated with extracellular matrix proteins designed to mimic the in vivo environment and maximize cellular activity, delivering consistent results in a broad range of research applications. BD BioCoat flasks provide versatility with surface options including collagen I, collagen IV, fibronectin, gelatin, laminin, and poly-d-lysine.

Advanced design for optimal use

BD Biosciences cell culture flasks feature a broad range of sizes, neck designs and cap styles to meet all application needs. The innovative neck shape allows access to all corners with a pipet or scraper and the patented locking incubation position prevents caps from falling off or closing while in the open position. Flasks also feature volumetric graduations for added precision.

Sterility assurance and user-friendly packaging

BD Falcon, BD Primaria, and BD BioCoat flasks are packaged in easy-to-open, double-wall bags with reseal tabs, providing increased sterility assurance and convenient use. The innovative bag materials will not scuff or scratch the optical surface, and the medical-style, peel open bags guarantee that flask sterility is maintained. The bag material is recyclable for reduced environmental footprint.
