BD Select CD1000 Medium
A chemically defined platform medium optimized for hydrolysate or CD feed supplementation.
Platform Medium
BD Select CD1000 is a specially balanced formulation, whereby the individual constituents are set at an ideal minimum concentration to support the nutritional requirements of a wide range of production cell types, including CHO, NS/O and hybridoma.
Generally, higher concentrations of certain media components will promote protein production in one cell type, while those same components at high concentrations may inhibit production - or may even be cytotoxic - for other cell types. Unlike typical media, the unique formulation of CD1000 enables its use as a "Platform Medium", reducing time and resource requirements.
Optimized for Hydrolysate or CD Feed Supplementation
The uniquely balanced formulation of Select CD1000 has been optimized to further enhance productivity through supplementation with peptones or chemically-defined feeds.

Enhanced production yields are critical for the cell culture industry. To improve productivity, hydrolysates have often been added to a chemically defined medium. Since most base media have not been optimized for hydrolysate supplementation, this approach has typically not achieved optimal process yields.
